The American Southwest Series Original Oil Paintings

True Grit : This is a last painting I did in our Santa Fe neighborhood ... and it was not easy. i started at sunrise. Just as I was finishing up, here came a gust of wind so strong that it sent the painting flying, face first into the sand. Oh, the joys of painting en plein air!! I went back the next day (at sunrise!), scraped off (most of) the sand, and repainted the painting. Wendy and Paul immediately christened this one, \

I went back the next day (at sunrise!), scraped off (most of) the sand, and repainted the painting. Wendy and Paul immediately christened this one, "True Grit". And probably made me a margarita to celebrate. Oil (and a little sand) on archival panel, unframed, 12" x 16".
